At Balanza Vineyards, we have just over five acres of pinot noir grapes growing on our nine acre property. We grow our favorite clones of Pinot Noir in our beloved Jory soil native to Dundee Hills. We feature Dijon clones 777 and 667, Pommard, and just a bit of Wadensville for interest. In 2017 we worked with a local winery to produce a small batch estate wine. As our harvest grows we look forward sharing the fruits of our labor with other small local producers.
We are thrilled to announce our very first vintage! Our 2017 estate grown Pinot Noir is an expression of our land, our family, and our work towards a more balanced life rooted in the Dundee Hills. Crafted from four distinct pinot noir clones grown in our original vineyard blocks, this wine for us is home. Deep dark fruit with violet undertones are presented with soft tannins creating an elegant finish that captures a sense of both place and season.
We will be shipping a limited release of our 2017 Pinot Noir later this year. We will also have our new 2018 Porch Swing Rosé available at our Guest House this spring!
